Our Mission.

Building Opportunities for Success (BOSS) is creating a high impact, sustainable, and accessible pathway into the architecture and design industry by providing hands-on workshops, resources, mentorship, skills, and professional design opportunities for underrepresented and under-resourced youth.

The Impact.

More than 85 students across 5 schools in the Madison Metropolitan School District have participated in BOSS programs and at least one third of high school students return to participate in workshops and next phases of programs.

Our programs have especially high impact over time: over 60% of our Summer Skill Building students complete the program intending to pursue BOSS internships the following summer and architecture or design programs at the collegiate level. 100% of our Paid Summer Interns apply to collegiate architecture or design programs.

We have recruited over 50 mentors, volunteers, and presenters across the country from different design firms and architecture schools. We are creating a network of design resources and mentorship for Wisconsin youth.
